Now in its fourth year, the Retail Switzerland Report is widely recognized as the most comprehensive overview of the inner-city retail trade on high streets in Switzerland. The 2018/19 edition covers 30 high streets in the cities Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Bern and Lucerne.
The detailed study contains information on vacancies, rents, tenant occupancy as well as the development and quality of the individual streets, thus helping investors and occupiers of the properties to make their own investment decisions.
In addition to lots of data and basic information on cities and streets, the included maps are especially helpful to quickly gain an insight into the retail mix of the examined streets.
Against the background of the far-reaching global structural change in the retail trade, which is intensified in Switzerland by shopping tourism and a cautious consumer mood, some of the key findings give rise to the assessment that the situation is developing positively at least on the streets examined. The vacancy rate for ground floor space used by the retail trade and gastronomy is only 1.1 % across all streets and shows that stationary retail space in prime locations remains in demand.
